Dr. Pat Slanga has been practicing in the Berks and Lancaster County area since graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 1994. She has a special interest in exotic and aquatic animal medicine and has trained at several zoos as well as the National Aquarium in Baltimore. (We tease that she will treat anything with a pulse-or a reasonable facsimile). She also has a strong interest in both soft-tissue and orthopedic surgeries and has received extensive post-graduate training in both of these areas.
When she is not working, Dr. Pat likes to tend to her gardens, which includes a Japanese garden and pond maintained for the comfort and pleasure of her ducks, chickens, and koi. She also shares her life with many other animals including (but not limited to) cats, quail, pigeons, rodents and hermit crabs. Her heart, though, will always belong to her wee Scotsman (Scottish Terrier).
